Women's and men's jeans sizes are usually given in inches, which is why the sizes for jeans differ from those for trousers. The Herrlicher size chart for women and men is designed to help you find the right Herrlicher size. The left column shows the American jeans size in inches, and the column next to it shows the standard clothing size in Germany. To determine your Herrlicher jeans size, you can simply base your choice on the size you normally wear. However, you'll get a more accurate result by measuring your jeans size. Two measurements are important for jeans: the width and the length. To determine your correct inch size, simply measure your waist circumference and the inside leg inseam. Then divide the waist circumference and the inseam by 2.54 (1 inch equals approximately 2.54 cm). The result is your correct jeans size..

Finding the Right Jeans Size and Length

1. Waist Size (W = Width) - Jeans Size

To determine your jeans size, you first need to determine your waist size. To do this, measure your waist circumference at the narrowest part of your waist. Stand relaxed and measure as directly against your skin as possible. The tape measure should be close to your body, but there should still be some slack. Divide your measured waist circumference by 2.54. This will give you your waist size in inches. Exception when measuring: if you want your jeans to sit low and "hip," such as the Pitch women's jeans model, then measure at the widest part of your body (at buttock level) instead of at the waist.

2. Inseam (L = Length) - Jeans Length

The first part is done – now it's time to measure your inseam. Stand barefoot on the floor and stand straight and relaxed. Place your feet slightly apart; a distance of about 10 cm between your ankles is ideal. To ensure you get an accurate result, someone else should measure for you. The inside leg length is measured from the floor to the end of the leg at the crotch. If no one else is available to help you, you can use the following trick: Stand in a doorway and wedge a book between your legs, up to your crotch. Now you can mark the top edge of the book in your doorway. Measure the distance from the mark to the floor to get your inseam in cm. Divide the result in cm by 2.54 to get your inseam in inches. Alternatively, you can measure a pair of well-fitting jeans you already own to determine your jeans size. To do this, measure the waist circumference along the top edge. The inseam is measured along the inseam from the hem to the crotch. You can then compare the measured value in cm with the Herrlicher size chart to find out which Herrlicher jeans length you need.

Example jeans size calculation:

• Example 1: If the measured waist circumference is 68 cm, this corresponds to a jeans size of 27 in inches (68 cm ÷ 2.54 = 26.8 inches). A measured inseam of 78 cm: after consulting the Herrlicher size chart, the inch length is 30. This ultimately gives us the American jeans size 27 (width) / 30 (length).

• Example 2: If you measure a waist circumference of 86 cm and an inseam of 81 cm, the American jeans size is 34 (width) / 32 (length). Herrlicher women's jeans are available in sizes 24 to 32 and in lengths L30, L32, and L34, although not every model and not every wash is available in all lengths. For men, Herrlicher offers jeans sizes 28 to 38 in lengths L32 and L34; some models are also available in length L30. Herrlicher Jeans Models and Sizes

Calculating your jeans size based on your body measurements gives you a good indication of the right size, but it should be considered a guideline. Specific features such as the rise or waistband of the jeans or the fit of the model also play a role in choosing the right size.

Women's boyfriend jeans, such as the Herrlicher Shyra, Raya, or Bijou, should be ordered one or two sizes smaller depending on how you want them to be worn. If you want your boyfriend jeans to sit loosely and comfortably on your hips, order your regular jeans size. If you want your boyfriend jeans to be a bit tighter and higher on the waist (mom style), order the Herrlicher Raya or Shyra one or two sizes smaller.
Very tight-fitting slim fit jeans, such as the Pitch Slim or Piper Slim, fit like a second skin and may therefore run a bit small. If you're ordering these jeans for the first time, it might be a good idea to order two sizes to choose from, with one slim fit jeans one size larger than your usual jeans size.
