To strengthen our team at our Munich location, we are looking to fill the position of Garment Technician / Product Development (m/f/d) with immediate effect.
Your Responsibilities
As a Garment Technician, you are the technical interface between design, production, purchasing and our international manufacturers. You ensure that our styles are developed to technical perfection, that all relevant requirements are clearly documented and that production runs smoothly. Specifically, this includes:
- Creating and maintaining detailed technical documentation (tech packs) – exclusively in Adobe Illustrator, including measurement charts, construction notes and technical sketches.
- Being responsible for the technical product development from the first prototype through to production approval.
- Checking samples for fit, workmanship, construction and quality, and issuing clear, traceable revision comments.
- Conducting fit sessions, documenting changes and working closely with design, the sample room and purchasing.
- Confident use of ERP/PLM systems and maintaining all technical data, article master data and production-relevant information.
- Reviewing size sets, grading and measurement charts to ensure compliance with Herrlicher standards.
- Inspecting production samples and AQL samples with regard to quality, sewing techniques, material usage, washes and trimmings.
- Clear, factual and solution-oriented communication with our international manufacturers and technical supervision of production.
- Supporting quality management through technical assessments and documentation.
- Keeping all technical development stages transparent and well structured.
Your Profile
- Completed training or degree in garment technology, product development, fashion technology or textile engineering.
- Excellent knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, particularly for technical drawings and tech packs.
- Routine handling of ERP/PLM systems and structured data.
- Strong technical understanding of pattern construction, workmanship, materials and fit.
- Passion for data-driven processes.
- Strong communication skills; structured, detail-oriented and reliable working style.
- Enjoyment of clear, solution-oriented collaboration with design, purchasing and production.
- Good written and spoken English skills.
- Independent, team-oriented and responsible way of working.
